It's here! It's finally Here!

After working for several months, I finally have the comic "Tbone and Friends Meet A Vampire" printed and in my hands!

What would YOU do if you met a vampire?  Tbone has decided it is way cool to be a vampire.  Vampires get to stay up all night, sleep in coffins, and "hypnotize" people.
When Tbone and Tang discover a real vampire on the street and he follows them to a
Fall party, they all learn the "truth" about vampires.

I am currently setting it up so these will be print-on-demand through  www.indyplanet.com.

You will also be able to receive signed copies with a special "extra" if you contact me directly at pendrag@sccoast.net. More details to follow in upcoming excerpts.

Has Tbone Gone Bats???

I have been busy working on a "Tbone and Friends " small comic book for the Halloween season. I don't want to give away too much just yet, but Tbone wants to be a vampire (because of all their cool super powers) until he meets a vampire, a real vampire...

...I am working feverishly to have it in print by the end of summer/early fall. ~crosses fingers~ I'll post updates of it as I go, so check back often!

In The Beginning...

Tbone seems to always start out as some really goofy, rough sketches, and usually ends up in some sort of "short-hand" art that only I can read or understand.

This fast-pace storyboard came to me right before I turned out the lights to go to bed (I think I even had my "eyes" out and had to pull out the coke-bottle glasses to even see the big yellow tablet in front of me and find a pen).
What you see here is a big scribble-mess, but, I know EXACTLY what I want to say, what the background looks like, the characters, the colors, all of it. It is just all smashed in my brain, bursting to get out.  I just need to get the pen, to put it down fast, before I forget anything.

After much time playing around with the storyboard, frame by frame, those scribbles turn into something like this (with a little magic of the digital tablet)...
...which is really sweet.  To me, nothing is complete until it's in color. Without color, it is like the art is "half-baked" to me.
This is from comic #58, getting all spoofed up to be ready for Easter  :)

Bullies are MEAN

Bullies can just make your life miserable.  I put together a "Tbone and Friends" one page comic for the kids at CUMC to see how Tbone deals with his bullies...
(I don't know if you can see it so well in the artwork, but poor Tbone is walking around with that toothpaste in his boot.  The flagpole is so tall, I had to make the characters proportionally smaller).  To get a print out of the whole comic, just come to "The Big House" at CUMC in Myrtle Beach and you'll get one after the show.  You can find out more info about CUMC at www.christislove.org. and The Big House at www.thebighouse.info

You've come a LONG way, Tbone!

Tbone turns 10 years old this month!  It was in February of 2002' that I created Tbone and his co-conspirators, Cherry and Tang.  They went from sketches to small acrylic paintings that I worked on incessantly.

Now in 2012, Tbone & Friends has busted out into the comic world with a new upcoming graphic novel where the trio take a trip to the dark depths of the jungle to discover "The Secret of life".

Check back or RSS feed for updates.  I'm also working on some pretty awesome designs on my new Zazzle store dedicated totally to Tbone & Friends.

Time to get busy!
